Here are the settings Wes-Tex recommends for best results. If you have any questions or need additional help, feel free to call us at 800-346-0515. This file has been saved as a compressed zip file which can be decompressed using WinZip or StuffIt Expander.

We suggest saving your Acrobat Distiller settings for future reference. This file will work on both Mac and Windows platforms. After you download the file, make sure that "wes-tex" shows up in the Job Options box when Distiller opens. If not, click on the arrow and select "wes-tex."

For Windows users, this directory can be found in:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 5.0\Distiller\Settings folder. Filenames will have the extension ".joboptions" (i.e., print.joboptions)

For Mac users, the directory is located in the:
Adobe\Acrobat 5.0\Distiller\Settings folder. To view these settings, select Job Options under the Settings menu in Distiller. The General preferences can remain unchanged.

To assure high quality output we do not recommend any downsampling of your bitmap images.
Remember, always embed ALL fonts!

Color preferences are selected to preserve the settings in your file.
The Advanced tab shows all boxes checked except three: It is not necessary to save portable job ticket, log DSC Warnings, or preserve OPI Comments.

PageMaker - Quark - InDesign

If you use a program that allows you to print or save as .pdf files, the most important things to be aware of are that you must NOT downsample ANY images and that it is critical that you ALWAYS embed ALL fonts. Please refer to screenshots for similar settings used in your specific layout application.
